Music Monday: Blindside's New Album!

I am so excited! Blindside is one of my favorite (if not very favorite) bands in the whole world! I've liked them and followed them longer than any other band. Five Iron Frenzy doesn't count since they broke up forever ago (but I still listen to their music a lot!).

It's not always a pleasant being a Blindside fan. They haven't come out with anything since The Black Rose EP in 2007. After a lengthy Silence (get it?) they announced that they would be coming out with a new album in early 2010. Obviously that never happened. Besides just being late, they didn't really tell us why they were running so late. BUT, now the Silence is broken. We have a date.

Blindside recently posted a teaser for their new album which will be called With Shivering Hearts We Wait. April 1 is the day I'm looking forward to! The teaser is interesting. As always, their lyrics sound beautiful and interesting, and the musicality sounds different but nice. I'll have to reserve judgement until April. But watch for yourself.

For those of you who don't know the awesomeness of Blindside, here's a few of my favorite songs. I will rate the heaviness level for listener discretion.

Pitiful. This is one of their most popular songs. It's regular rock with very little screaming. The song talks about sinning, feeling guilty and hiding from God, and eventually turning back to him. Very relate-able. The video's also pretty interesting.

Painting. Don't be fooled by the intro; the song is fairly mellow! This song is also Hannah B. approved. :)

Fell In Love With the Game. Another medium rock song with great lyrics. Their music video is set in the Great Depression, which is also the name of that album. It also has lots of Christian's characteristic high kicks.

Come to Rest. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. It's pretty hard, so watch your ears. It's a rather sad song about people succumbing to worldly pressures instead of resting in God.

That's Blindside. Yes, they're really that good. If you can't understand what they're singing, then look it up. You don't want to miss their lyrical awesomeness.

I like comments just as much as fresh guacamole and chips! Well, maybe not quite that much...
